Congratulations to all presenters and producers of the first full weekend of broadcast on Radio Teesdale’s full time license. Katie and Richard’s laugh a minute style had us off to a fantastic start on the Saturday Breakfast show. This was followed by Gary Burgham – a real delight to have you – the voice of some many of our regular announcements - back behind the desk! Gary’s very special live guest was the one and only Alvin Stardust – My Coo Ca Choo!
Alvin is appearing at the Darlington Civic Theatre this Friday. A few technical problems with Alvin’s new mobile phone meant that the interview was a brief ten minutes but Alvin has agreed to join Gary on the Drive Time Show from 5pm to 7pm tomorrow (Monday 24th September). Alvin was a true gentleman and very helpful. His chat on Monday will be, “Must hear radio.”
Mike and Graham told us how we can get out more with their marvellous journey through what’s going on in the region. The evening brought us another chance to hear Songwriters with Rob Jones, the Comedy Hour, the Mix (without any additives!), followed by the new mystery voice of love on Radio Teesdale – enough to make your toes curl!!
Sunday brings us a full day’s schedule from nine in the morning right through to eleven in the evening. As I write, we’re off to a great start with Wayne Mann easing is into our Sunday morning.

The Autumn schedule starts tomorrow!
Having started live broadcasting on the 9th July we are delighted to start our full autumn schedule some 10 weeks later. We have come a long way in this period. Well done everyone concerned. We also offer special thanks to the many guests and community groups that have contributed to creating a variety of exciting programmes. You can download the schedule from the link on the home page of the web site.
Our new programme schedule sees a whole range of interesting programmes. We have a wide and diverse array of specialist music covering such things as Classical Music, Indie, Soul, Disco Hits, Country and Western and Folk Music to name but a few.
If you are a member of a community group we would be only too happy to come along to talk to your members or group leaders to see how you could have your voice heard on Radio Teesdale. Likewise, we always welcome new members. If you would like to become involved in creating or supporting a programme then please get in touch through one of the ways described on our contact page. We would be delighted to hear from you.
