A brief note to let you know that I’ve just come back from the studio, where I’ve changed all the broadcast recordings.
We are now transmitting about an hours worth of short pieces with various announcements.
This is the start of our Limited Service Broadcast. 29th March 2007….another day in history!
We’ve lots of different voices delivering scripted announcements. These will be fed into the system over the next few weeks along with new material as it is produced by members.
We are now into Phase 2 – the start of Limited Service Broadcasting. Exciting times ahead!!!!
All the best, Peter.

Testing Testing
Hi Everyone,
After midnight and into our 2nd day of testing the signal is still coming through strong in Lartington!
A brief note of personal thanks to you all for your contribution to making the whole of today possible.
When TEESDALE popped up on the car radio and the jingle blasted out it made all the hard work of the last few months seem very very worthwhile.
We all know this is just the start of making our vision come to fruition, but I think we’ll look back at today as a turning point in future of Teesdale.
Best Wishes,
Peter

The BBC !
This afternoon Andy Greener (along with a representative from each of the other 2 community radio stations in the North East) met the BBC in Newcastle.
It is part of an initiative based on working out how CMA organisations could work more closely with the BBC. It was a very useful meeting.
Mike Shaft of Radio Manchester has attended meetings across the UK. He’s writing a report making recommendations on the way forward. We added a number of points to the overall report. The report is likely to have some very positive points to make about future arrangements between the BBC and Community Radio Stations.
Specifically, we have made contact with Radio Newcastle and started a good relationship with them. A direct outcome is that they are going to run a training day for all community radio volunteers (that we nominate) in mid-April.
We have also made contact with the other 2 community stations in our region and will follow up that relationship. There are lots of similarities in what we are doing!
